Wilna M. Northam Chance, 98 of Mays, passed away on Dec. 26, 2017 in Rushville.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1919 in Rush County to the late Fred and Beatrice (Austin) Osborne. Wilna was a 1937 graduate of Rushville High School. She married Edwin J. Northam on Aug. 10, 1940 and he precedes her in death on July 31, 1977. Wilna married Ernest E. Chance on August 2, 1980 and he precedes her in death on January 7, 2002. Wilna was a member of Center Christian Church. She worked in the Bell Gregg School Office and was formerly associated with the Boy Scout groups in Rushville. Wilna was very active in 4-H for many years and Rush County Assessor's Office located in the Rush County Courthouse.
Wilna is survived by her loving son, David E. (Jan) Northam of Rushville; step-son, Mark A. Chance of Milan, IN; 5 grandchildren, Joe Northam, Lara Shelton, Matt Hazelett, Kathie Northam Schutz, and Betsy Northam Kraft. She is also survived by several step grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Wilna is also preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Hazelett; brothers, Robert Osborne, Russell Osborne, George Osborne; sisters, Betty Dickey and Carol Fizer.
Services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017 at 1 PM at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Pastor Darryl Denny will preside. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be to the Rush County Community Foundation Community Fund or Donor's charity of choice.
