Thelma Manning Hardwick, 98, a former Rushville resident, passed away April 13, 2017 in Indianapolis.
She was born Nov. 28, 1918 in Greenfield to William L. & Mable (Clark) Holding. Thelma married William E. Manning on February 26, 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1963. She married Vernon F. Hardwick on June 30, 1963 and he preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 1983.
Thelma was a long time member of Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Rushville and Secretary of the Mary E. Logan Women's Association of the church. She retired in 1976 from Schnadig Corporation in Rushville after 21 years. She was a charter member of the Hint Hunters Homemaker Club. She was an office holder and member of the Rushville American Legion Aux #150, 8&40 & Rushville Eagles Aux #2036.
Thelma is survived by her daughter-in-law, Betty Manning(widow of Jack) of Indianapolis, her grandchildren, Kim (Dan) Petry of Indianapolis, Laurel (Dan) Pritt of Indianapolis, Craig (Sharon) Manning of MI, Scott Manning of Indianapolis, Jeff Manning of TX, Freddie Eugene Manning, Jr of TX and Shawn Manning of Indianapolis, several great & great-great grandchildren survive. In addition to her husbands and parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her sons, Jack & Fred Manning and a step-daughter, Janet Newhouse.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor John Wall presiding. Friends may call at the mortuary from 6-8PM Monday evening, April 17. Burial will be in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
