Steven Ruben Lempke, 54, of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, Nov. 27 at his home after a year of battling multiple myeloma.
Steve was born Aug. 28, 1963 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Owen Ruben and Elizabeth Ann "Betty" (Lange) Lempke. On June 7, 1986 he married Carol Lynn Truster, who survives. Also surviving are daughters Sarah (Ryan) O'Hare of Peekskill, NY, and Laura of Indianapolis, IN; and one sister Lisa (Taylor) Jackson of Mill Creek, IN.
Steve grew up on a farm in northern Indiana and was a ten-year 4H member. He graduated from Purdue University in 1986 where he was a member of Farmhouse Fraternity. Steve was a faithful, active member in several churches throughout his life. His career in the customer service and marketing fields took him throughout the country, and he spent the past five years with SymphonyEYC focusing on product development. He especially valued the opportunity to serve as a mentor to younger employees. Steve loved restoring antique furniture, home renovation, traveling, entertaining friends, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and career, his friendship and humor, and his infectious laugh.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 226 N. Morgan St., Rushville, IN on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 11am followed by lunch.
