Stanton's Story

Stanton Davis, 74, a long time Rush County area resident, passed away May 22, 2017 at his home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1942 in New Castle to the late Everett & Martha (Newhouse) Davis. Stanton spent his early life in Knightstown and graduated in 1961 from Knightstown High School. He married Arlene (Gordon) on September 5, 1964.
Stanton retired in 2005 from Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis after 44 years where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member & Elder of the Raleigh Christian Church. Stanton was a 50+ year member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM, the York Rite Bodies, Order of the Eastern Star and served on the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
In addition to his wife, Arlene, of Rush County, he is survived by sons, Derek & wife Donita Davis and Gordon & wife Bilinna Davis all of Rushville, a brother, Ronnie Lee & wife Mari Davis, a sister, Cynthia & husband Jeffrey Huffman and grandchildren, Jessica Infield, Joshua Blevins, Stephen Davis, Molly Davis, Jordon Davis, Delaney Davis, Mackenzie Davis, Brett (Megan) Davis, Stephanie Philpot and Monica (William) Farthing, 8 great grandchildren also survive. Stanton was preceded in death by a son, Richard S. Davis (2009).
There will be no public services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Raleigh Christian Church.
