Robert Gene Woodall, 86, of Connersville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2016, at his residence. He was born on July 31, 1930 in Vincennes, Indiana to Carl and Nora Williams Woodall - both who preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War and was stationed in Germany and operated a tank. He retired from the Vincennes Fire Department in Vincennes, Indiana as a fireman after 23 years of service. After his retirement, he worked at various odd jobs. He loved to raise chickens and pigeons, and really enjoyed participating in homing pigeon clubs. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by two daughters - Wendy (David) Cox of West Chester, Pennsylvania and Micki Woodall of Tallahassee, Florida; two sons - Robert Woodall of Connersville, Indiana and Chris (Melissa) Woodall of Las Cruces, New Mexico; ten grandchildren - Chase, Carlie, Charlie, Randy, Lily, Sullivan, Bobby, Jeremiah, and Caden and Kieran Cox; and one great grandchild - Miranda Woodall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his partner of over 25 years - Glendola "Dodie" Duckworth; three brothers - Carl, Vernie, and Aquila Woodall; a half-brother - Cliff Woodall; four sisters - Sara Reel, Lucille Pitts, Christina "Teenie" Meyers, and Lotus Gibson; daughter in law, Tammie Woodall and a grandson - Clay Woodall. The visitation from Mr. Woodall will be held on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Urban-Winkler Funeral Home in Connersville, Indiana. A military graveside service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Columbia Cemetery with the Reverend Robbie Judd of the Alquina and Columbia United Methodist Churches officiating.
