Robert's Story

Robert A. VanOsdol, 67, a long time Rush County area resident, passed away May 31, 2016 in Long Beach, MS. He was born March 16, 1949 in Rushville to Robert & Maxine (Lee) VanOsdol. Bob was a 1967 graduate of Arlington High School. He obtained his Bachelor's in education from Indiana State University and his Master's in education from the University of St. Francis in Ft. Wayne. He had also obtained his Administrative degree in education from Indiana University.
Bob had lived in MS since 2004. He lived in Huntington for 10 years & spent his early life in the Arlington community where he attended the Arlington Christian Church.
Bob was Assistant Supt. of Huntington County Community Schools for 10 years, retiring in 2004.
He is survived by a daughter, Amy (Alex) Brady of Long Beach, MS, a brother, David (Tanya) VanOsdol of Arlington, a sister, Betty Jane (Ed) Lyskowinski of Greenfield and grandchildren, Ashlyn, Alivia & William Brady. He was also survived by 4 nieces & 2 nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 5 PM Friday, June 10 at the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Gary Holt will preside. A time of fellowship will be held at the Arlington Christian Church after burial.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rush County Community Foundation or the American Heart Association.
