Marilyn White, 88, of Manilla, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Waldron Health & Rehab.
Born November 30, 1929 in Rush County, she was the daughter of Waldo Brown and Lavanche (John) Brown. She married Thomas F. White on August 27, 1950 and he preceded her on March 29, 1998.
Survivors include 3 children- Karen Brown (husband Kerry) of Connersville, David White (wife Tina) of Indianapolis, Amy Leising (husband David) of Indianapolis; 3 siblings- Neal Brown (wife Jeanne) of California, Gary Brown (wife Sandy) of Naples, Florida, Beth West of Clifford; 7 grandchildren- Eric White, Aaron White, Kim Young, Matthew Mohr, Emma Leising, Ben Leising, Meg Leising; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and her Aunt Maymie, who helped to raise her.
Mrs. White lived in this area her entire lifetime, and graduated from Manilla High School in 1947. She was a home maker, and had worked in the office for Ray's Crossing Grain, and the Manilla Post Office for several years.
She was a charter member of the Manilla Town & Country Home Ec Club, and the Manilla Amicitia Club.
Marilyn enjoyed quilting, traveling, working in her flower garden, and loved her family and spending time with them.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 6, 2018 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Rev. Jerri Cadwallader officiated. Burial was in Manilla Cemetery.
