Marie  Saunders
Marie Saunders, 89, of Rushville, formerly of Lewisville, passed away January 27, 2019.
Marie was born September 8, 1929 in Kentucky to the late Mitchell and Bonnie (Jasper) Wesley. Marie was a graduate of Lewisville High School, class of 1947. She married James Saunders May 1, 1947 and he would precede her in death.
Marie was a self employed beautician for 40 years. She was an elder of the Lewisville Presbyterian Church, a member of the Lewisville Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the Indiana State Hairdressers Association, on the NHCA Board of Directors, the Lewisville Fire Department and enjoyed international traveling.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Mick Saunders, of Rushville and sisters, Iva Haynes and Becky Conley. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Rob (Rhonda) Saunders, of Charleston, SC, Amanda (Jim) Niedrach, of Fishers, IN and great-grandchildren Garrett, Levi, Lauren and Luke.
In addition to her husband and parents, Marie was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Alice Saunders, brother Earl Wesley, sisters, Viola Dishman, Bernice Stoops, Bea Mofield and granddaughter Laurie Saunders Marlatt.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12pm, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory with Pastor Mick Saunders officiating. Friends are welcome to visit from 10am to 12pm the same day. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery.
