Linda Lou McCoy
Linda L. McCoy, 76, of Greensburg, passed away on February 8, 2018. She was born on July 2, 1941 in Shelby County, Indiana, the daughter of Paul and Pauline Hatton Swift.
Linda was a 1959 graduate of Manilla High School. On August 6, 1961 she married Gene H. McCoy at the Kingston Presbyterian Church. Linda was a mother and housewife and retired from Wal-Mart after 14 ½ years. She was a member of the Greensburg First Baptist Church, the Auxiliary of Gideons International, and was a Charter member of the Decatur County Gideons Auxiliary. She was a member of the Decatur County Historical Society and Right to Life. She was a former Sunday School Teacher, Youth Worker, Pianist and Organist. She served on the Gideons International State Cabinet for four years as well the local Decatur County Gideons offices, American Heart Association, Red Cross Volunteer, and Easter Seals Fund Raising.
Survivors include: Husband- Gene H. McCoy of Greensburg; Daughters- Julia McCoy (Paul M.) Ewer of Noblesville and Jill McCoy of Indianapolis; Brother- Larry L. (Pam) Swift of Nashville, TN; Nieces- Gretchen (Rich) Kalonick of Nashville, TN, and Rebecca Swift of Brentwood, TN; Great Niece- Polly Kalonick of Nashville, TN; and Great Nephew- Pete Kalonick of Nashville, TN. She was preceded in death by her Parents.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Greensburg First Baptist Church, 209 W. Washington St, Greensburg, IN on Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral Services will be Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11:00 am. Rev. Cliff Bunch will be officiating. Burial will follow at the South Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Gideons Living Memorial Bible Plan, American Heart Association, or to the Peyton Manning Children's Hospital. Online condolences can be made to the family at
