Larry D. Harmon, 71, a longtime Glenwood resident passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 in Greenfield, IN. Larry was born in New Castle, IN on March 7, 1946 to the late George and Dorothy (Spurgin) Harmon.
Larry lived his early life in Falmouth and has lived in Glenwood since 1970. He was a 1965 graduate of New Salem High School. Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Larry married Belinda Allen on August 10, 1967 and she survives. He worked at D&M in Connersville, Federal Mogul in Greensburg, NSK in Liberty and as a machinist at NTNBCA in Greensburg. Larry was a member of Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Lakeview and the Glenwood Volunteer Fire Dept. Larry enjoyed woodworking and carpentry and was always building something.
In addition to his wife Belinda, Larry is survived by 2 sons, John Harmon and wife Sherry of Connersville, Michael Harmon and wife Heather of Greenfield, 3 brothers, David Harmon and wife Betty of Falmouth, Leonard Harmon and wife Lynne of Richmond and Terry Harmon and wife Donna of Cincinnati OH, a sister, Linda Harmon of College Corner, IN and 3 grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Bobby, sister, Judy and a grandson Kaz Weaver.
Services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Pastor Mike Coyle will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 4-7 PM Tuesday, July 11th at the mortuary. Burial will be in Orange North Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
