John Phillip Haehl, 74, of Greensburg, passed away over the weekend in his home in Greensburg. He was born March 20, 1942 in Shelbyville to Wallace and Gladys (Lewellyn) Haehl. John was a 1961 graduate of Manilla High School and served in the US Coast Guard from 61-65. He then served in the Reserves for two years. He spent most of his life in the Manilla area.
John was a truck driver for many years and also worked security for a while. He was a member of the Manilla Christian Church where he played the organ on occasion.
He is survived by a brother, Clayton and wife Mary Haehl of Pulaski, Tennessee; a sister, Elaine Six of Rushville; and 2 nieces and 4 nephews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Pastor John Wall presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday. Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. The Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard will provide military honors at the mortuary.
