Jacob Henry Ping, 33, of Rushville, passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2017, at home surrounded with love, family, and friends.
Jacob was born on Oct. 31, 1983, to Wayne and Anne (Coleman) Ping, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He attended Milroy Elementary and graduated from RCHS in 2002, where he was an active member of FFA and 10 year member of 4H. After graduation, he went on to get a certification in Welding.
Jacob was a man of many skills, and if he didn't know how, he would learn. He loved to work, to build, and create; he grew up on the family farm, worked as a welder and on small engines; he loved IH tractors, collecting guns, woodworking, and gardening. In the past few years, Jacob's favorite hobby was cooking. He loved the challenge of a new recipe and planned to perfect each one.
Jacob is survived by his wife, Marci (Davis), and dog Max; parents and brothers, William Ping, Matthew and wife Stacia (Phelps) Ping; in-laws include Joni (Peterson) Davis, Mark and Debbie (Russell) Davis, Trent and Amanda (Yager) Davis, Stephanie (Walter) and Jonny Moore, and Steven Davis; nieces and nephews, Madison, Connor, and Noah Ping, Alaina Davis, and Payton Moore; godchildren Lilli and Layton Rapp; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Jacob was preceded in death by his grandparents Wilbur and Mary (Jones) Ping, Doris LaVon (Hite Overlease) Ping, and Harold and Norma (Meador) Coleman.
