Hena Louise Denzler, 83 of Rushville, passed away suddenly Sept. 26, 2016 following a brief illness. Hena was born on Nov. 12, 1932 in Lafayette IN to the late Charles and Myrtle (Fry) Kopenhafer. She married Donald F. Denzler on Feb.12, 1955. Donald was the love of her life for more than 60 years. He preceded her in death October of 2015. They were blessed with three children.
She was devoted to her Christian faith and was a member at the First Presbyterian Church of Rushville. She loved singing in the church choir. Two organizations were a big part of her life. Hena was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Xi ETA Xi and Martha POE Order of Eastern Star OES #143.
For more than 30 years, she had a career in nursing as a RN with Todd Hillside Haven Nursing Home and Millers Merry Manor. Following her retirement, she stayed active volunteering her nursing skills at the Rush County Senior Center and helping out at the local food pantry.
Those left to cherish her memory are sons, Frank (Lorie) Denzler, Rushville, Mark (Joyce) Denzler, Bentonville; and daughter, Lisa (David) Odierno, Lakewood, California. Hena is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Kevin Charles Denzler (infant).
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at 3 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 4, 2016 at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory. Friends may call from noon until time of service the same day.
