Helen L. (Scheibler) Robbins, 91, a lifetime Rush County resident, went to her heavenly home Monday, Dec. 26 at 6:15 p.m. Daughter Sharon Brown and Helen's husband H. Eugene Robbins were with her most of the day as she faded away quietly. The staff at Millers Merry Manor just recently helped Eugene and Helen celebrate their 70th Wedding Anniversary in the activities room with 50 or more people attending. They were married Oct. 19, 1946.
Helen was born March 6, 1925 in Anderson Township near Milroy to Arthur O. Scheibler and Hilda M. (Holbert). Her mother died when Helen was 6 months of age. She was raised by her grandparents and aunts.

They have 5 grandchildren, Michele King (Phil), Douglas R. Brown, Angie Sloan (Brian), Ronda Glessner (Grant) and Brent Robbins (Samantha), 5 great grandchildren, Lake, Autumn and Sky Elizabeth, Schelde and Courtney Sloan Griffin (David), Giovanna Robbins and 1 great-great grandchild, Jude Monroe Griffin.
After a brief time at Ward Stilson Garment Factory in Rushville, Helen chose to stay at home and raise her children. Helen was very active in the Nazarene church, being a Sunday School Teacher and served many years on the board as Steward. Her delight was her home. She loved decorating, entertaining and pretty dishes. Now she is enjoying her heavenly home.
