Florence Herbert, 86, of Straughn, formally of Rushville, passed away May 24, 2017.
She was born July 3, 1930 in Collingswood, N.J. to the late Waltimer and Josephine Fritzsche.
She married Ellis Herbert on Feb. 23, 1949, and he survives.
Florence was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville and the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved to dance, travel and dabble in crafts, and was an avid canner. She was the co-owner of Herbert Wrecker service before retiring.
In addition to her husband, those left to cherish her memory include her two sons Dearl (Huyen) Herbert, Anderson, Scott Herbert, Arlington, and her daughter Penny (James) Sons of Straughn. She is also survived by a brother, Alan Fritzsche, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tena (Steve) Draper and six siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday May 27, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, at Todd Funeral Centre & Crematory, with a rosary service at 3:45 p.m. Burial will be at Rushville's Calvary Cemetery.
