Fern L. Gallimore, 88, a lifelong Rushville resident, passed away Dec. 19, 2017 in Rushville. She was born Jan. 9, 1929 in Fayette County to David R. & Goldie (Lambert) Lanning. Fern was a 1947 graduate of Orange High School and attended Indiana Business College. She married Wayne Gallimore on July 27, 1951 and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2001.
Fern worked from 1962-1969 at Rush Memorial Hospital and retired in 1999 from Rushville City Utilities as Office manager where she had worked since 1969. She had been a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rushville.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Larry) Gober of Indianapolis and Linda (Larry) Simko of Floyds Knobs, her sisters, Lois Williamson of Batesville, Mary Louise McCane of Rushville and Charlene Bennett of Anderson, grandchildren, Andrew & Jamie Simko and Mat & Adam Wagner, great grandchildren, Denisse, Matthew Jr. and Josie Wagner and Remington Black. In addition to her parents and husband, Fern was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Doyle Lanning and a sister, Nellie Clark.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Friday, Dec. 22, 2017 in the Rushville East Hill Cemetery, Section 14. Pastor John Wall will preside.
