Eva L. Meyer, 96, of Rush County, passed away November 5, 2017 in Rushville. She was born December 23, 1920 in Fayette County to the late John L. and Laura (McElfresh) Mastin. Eva married A. Walter Meyer on October 27, 1940 and he preceded her in death on January 7, 1996.
Eva worked at Reynolds Ceramics for several years and also was as a sorter for Pioneer Seed Company. She was a longtime member of Main Street Christian Church where she taught Bible school. Eva was active in the United Way, American Red Cross and also the Girl Scouts of America. She was a gifted seamstress.
Eva is survived by her sons, John D. (Nancy) Mastin of Rushville and Michael W. (Lori) Mastin of Rushville, nieces, Sherry (Paul) Eckart, Cindy (Mike) Alexander, Eva Jane (Mark) Shepherd, Laura Jo Cornelius, 4 grandchildren, John David Mastin, Leslie Ann Mastin, Andy Mastin, and Aaron (Trisha) Mastin, 6 great grandchildren, Korbin and Katen Mastin, Landon Jarman, Paige Myer, Jasmine and James Bond and great-great grandchildren, Trinity and Jack Myer.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eva was preceded in death by a niece, Mary Lou Gore, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor Chip West presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 11 AM until time of service on Thursday. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery.
