Ethel M. May, 78, a life long Rush County area resident, passed away February 16, 2018 in Rush Memorial Hospital. She was born May 28, 1939 in Rush County to George & Ethel (Miller) Richardson. Ethel was a 1957 graduate of Orange High School. She married Donald W. "Jug" May on October 28, 1983 and he survives.
Ethel worked many years in the dietary department at Millers Merry Manor & Hillside Haven Healthcare. She attended First Southern Baptist Church. Ethel enjoyed needlework, quilting, crochet, working in her yard and garden and watching the birds.
In addition to her husband, Donald W. "Jug" May of Rushville, she is survived by her sons, Jeff (Mindy) Sherwood of Rush County and Don (Tracy) May of Montana, her daughters, Karen (Dana) Brown of Rushville and Ginger (Scott) Doddridge of Greenfield, sisters, Charlotte Kinder of Rushville, Marilyn (Kenny) Vogel of New Salem and Elizabeth Lanning of Richmond, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Ethel was preceded in death by a son, Terry May, a sister, Norma Jean Carpenter and brothers, John, Floyd, Edward and Donald Richardson.
There will be a private memorial service held for the family. Burial will be held at a later date in the Orange Cemetery. Pastor John Wall will preside.
