Ethel Holbert, 91, of Connersville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, while she was a patient at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.
She was born April 9, 1925, in Peppertown, Indiana, and is the daughter of Ollie Bulmer and Lucy Reifel Bulmer, both of whom preceded her in death.
On Oct. 1, 1943, she married Donald Holbert, in Andersonville, Indiana. They were able to spend 70 years together before he passed in Jan. 2014. She was a member of the Glenwood Christian Church.
Ethel enjoyed spending her time playing euchre and gardening. She also loved sewing and making quilts.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret (Norman) Barron, and Wanda (Ardie) Estes, both of Connersville; a brother, Harold Bulmer, of Andersonville; a sister, Dorothy Vail, of Rushville; four grandchildren, Kenny (Christina) Curry, of Avon, IN, Barbie Madden (Jimmy Stanley), of Dayton, OH, Rick (Cindy) Emmel, of Glenwood, and Tina (David) Smith, of Laurel; nine great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Bulmer, and a granddaughter, Laura Faye Selby.
The funeral service for Mrs. Holbert will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 10 a.m., at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, with Pastor David Bonne and Pastor Tony Stidham officiating. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery. Friends and family may visit on Friday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
