Donald R. Jarboe


Donald R. Jarboe, 80, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2019, surrounded by family and friends. Don was born April 19, 1939, to the late William and Lottie Mae (Gribbons) Jarboe.
Don was a graduate of Rushville high School and after graduation, he played football for Calinga College in Calinga, CA. After college, Don enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1961-1963 at Ft. Lewis, in Tacoma, WA. After serving in the military, he worked for the steel mill industry in Gary, IN. Upon returning to Rushville, Don worked in several fields and became self-employed for the rest of his career.
Don loved his pet dogs, especially Vern and Gingy.
He loved the lord and the written word of the bible, many daily conversations took place discussing the word with anyone willing to participate.
Don will be missed by several nieces, nephews and countless friends. In addition, he was blessed to have the love of the Sallee family.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his siblings, James "Bernard", Ellen, Elizabeth, Susie, Joe, Mary, Ann, Bill, Paul, Ernestine and David.
Services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 17, 2019 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Pastor Darryl Cooper presiding. Friends are welcome to visit on Saturday from 11 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rushville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Roudebush VA Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

I was so glad that I was able to visit with Don recently in his home with several of our "old" friends. Don will be greatly missed by all. Our friendship goes back 70 years all the way to grade school. A better friend than Don is not possible. You are with your lord now Don.
