Dennis Stewart Rouse, 87, of Rushville, passed away October 29, 2017.
Dennis was born July 18, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Stewart & Charlotte (Seiler) Rouse. He was a graduate of Mays High School, class of 1948. Upon graduation, Dennis enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean War.
After his discharge, he attended Indiana University where he would ultimately earn his masters degree in education. He worked and retired as a teacher in the Columbus School System. He was a world traveler and taught in many countries. He married Rose Caselli on September 28, 1974. After marrying Rose, he took her to all of the beautiful places he had traveled to.
Dennis was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Rushville and a member of the former Raleigh Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife, those left to remember Dennis are two sisters, Edith Ford, of Mt. Summit, IN and Patricia Parmley, of Sommerset, KY.
Dennis was preceded by two sisters, Constance and Charlotte Rouse.
Per his wishes, no services will be held and Dennis will be interred in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A family and friends prayer service will be held Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
