Delza's Story

Delza Milon Huffman, 99, a long time Rush County resident, passed away Dec. 30, 2016 in Rushville. He was born July 16, 1917 in Fayette County to John L. and Wanda F. (Fielding) Huffman.
Delza moved with his family to a farm in Rush County in 1932. He was a farmer all his life. He served in the US Army in Europe during World War II. Delza was a member and Past Master of Phoenix Lodge #62 of Free and Accepted Masons and was also a member of Chapter, Council and Commandery where he was Past Commander. He was also a member of Scottish Rite in Indianapolis and the Trinity United Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder.
He is survived by his sisters, Norma Dux of Indianapolis and Marjorie Brett of Rushville; as well as 12 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Delza was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Smith; a niece; and many cousins.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from noon until time of service. Entombment will be in the East Hill Shrine Mausoleum and Pastor John Wall will preside. Masonic services will be held at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
