Charles Junior Clapp, 94, a longtime Rushville resident passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at his granddaughter's home in Greenfield, IN. Charles was born on June 19, 1922 in Decatur County, IN to Charles Milton and Edith (Miller) Clapp.
Charles was a 1940 graduate of Milroy High School. He married Luvina Mae Bussberg on June 20, 1942 and she preceded him in death on December 4, 1989. Charles was an owner/operator commercial tourist (Truck Driver) retiring in 1984. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all gardening, which he would share with everyone.
Charles is survived by his sons, Charles (Dave) Clapp and friend Margaret Ramsey of Rushville, Richard (Rick) Clapp and wife Beth (Tilly) of Carthage, a daughter, Debbie Foust and husband Tim of Cedarville, OH, brother, Jim Clapp and wife Joan of Dayton, OH, 2 sisters, Helen Gilles of Shelbyville and Ruby Poole of Waldron, IN, 10 grandchildren, Robin (Eric) Magee, Bobbi (Brian) Roy, Tisha (Wes) Lee, Shelle (Scott) Beyer, Christal Clapp, Heather England, Charles Leroy Clapp, Brian Brown, Brent Brown and Brandi (Jared) Smith, 25 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and several step great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Charles was preceded in death by a son, Robert Earl (Bob) Clapp, brother, Max Clapp and a great grandson, Craig Andrew Miers.
Services will be held at 10 AM Friday, July 8, 2016 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville. Pastor Ron Simbro will preside. Friends are welcome to visit from 4-8 PM Thursday, July 7th at the Mortuary. Burial will be in East Brook Cemetery.
