Carole Sue (Woods) Martindale, 74, of Shelbyville, IN, went to be with her Lord, Sunday, July 24, 2016 at St Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born April 22, 1942 in Muhlenberg Township, Pickaway County, Ohio the daughter of the late Roy and Alice (Eldridge) Woods.
Carole married Larry Martindale Sr. on December 22, 1959 in Darbyville, OH. She was a homemaker and worked as a nurse's assistance for eight years at Rush Memorial hospital, she was an active member of the Shelbyville First Church of the Nazarene. Over the years she was a Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school director, and a church board member, she loved working with children. She loved baking Christmas cookies with her grandkids was one of her joys and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years Larry Martindale Sr. her children, Larry "Richie Wink" (Lori) Martindale, Lynnette (Ric) Fuller, Connie (Albert Jr) Morris, Tanya (Jason) Starkey, daughter-in-law Beth Newbold. seventeen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, brothers, Walter Woods and Larry (Joyce) Woods, sisters, Betty (Frank) McNeal, Patty Davis, Mary Bates, Wanda Harris and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Kyle Martindale, brothers Richard Woods and Roy Woods Jr. sisters, Helen Miller and Marie Riser.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the Shelbyville First Church of the Nazarene. With Dr. Steven Bohall, Rev Aaron Chester and Rev Robert Malone officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Shelbyville First Church of the Nazarene and Wednesday, from 9:00am to service time at the church. Burial will be Friday July 29, 2016 at the Muhlenberg Township Cemetery in Darbyville, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Shelbyville First Church of the Nazarene.
