Bob N. Myer, 90, of Rushville, passed away Sept. 29, 2016. Bob was born April 15, 1926 in Rush County to Clarence and Mary (Zike) Myer. Bob was a Tec 5 in the U.S. Army serving in WWII. Bob lived many years in Shelbyville and New Palestine areas. He married Jeannette Swartz on May 26, 1950 and she preceded him in death on July 28, 2015.
Bob was a retired auto mechanic. He worked many years at Sharp Ford and Ed Martin Ford in Indianapolis. He owned and operated Myers Auto Service in Rushville for many years. He was a member of the Arlington Christian Church.
He is survived by a son, Mark S. Myer of Rushville; a daughter, Lucinda (Charles) Pond of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Sarah (Brandt) Cox, Stephanie Pond and Christopher Pond; and a great grandson, Donovan Cox. In addition to his wife, Bob was preceded in death by brothers, Kendrick, Bud, Ronald and Fred Myer and sisters, Mary and Marjorie.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Fred Hickman presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 11:30 a.m. until time of service Tuesday. Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the Rush County Veteran's Honor Guard.
