Betty L. Foley
Betty L. Foley, 82, an Indianapolis area resident, formerly of Rush County, passed away November 10, 2019 at her home in Indianapolis. She was born February 27, 1937 in Henry County to Alton & Lucretia Mae (Oldham) Gordon. Betty was Valedictorian of her Raleigh High School class of 1955. She received her BA & MA from Ball State University.
Betty married Stephen P. Foley on November 23, 1979 and he survives.
Betty worked 10 years as manager over many departments at Wasson Eastgate Mall before beginning her teaching career. She taught 28 years in Rushville, mostly at Rushville Elementary teaching history to 6th graders. Betty retired from teaching in 1998.
She was a member of Calvary Tabernacle Church in Indianapolis, former member of the Family Worship Center in Rushville, past president of Rushville BPW and member of the Indiana State & Rush County retired teacher's associations. She loved to spend time with her family, enjoyed playing euchre and loved to cook.
In addition to her husband, Stephen, of Indianapolis, she is survived by her daughter, Faith (Curt) Mock of Rushville, a son, Nathan (Laurel) Foley of Indianapolis, sisters, Ruth (Tom) Armstrong of Oaklandon and Mary Jo (James) Lovett of Raleigh, grandchildren, Anthony Mock, Taylor (Zach) Lucas, Allegra, David, Gordon Harrison, Rowan & Ella Foley and great grandson, Sirius Mock.
Services will be held at 2 PM Thursday, November 14, 2019 in the Family Worship Center, Rushville, with Rev. Paul D. Mooney, Pastor Tim Pedigo and Pastor Darryl Cooper presiding. Friends are welcome to visit in the church from 11 AM until time of service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Christian School @ 3639 Keystone Ave, Indianapolis, IN. 46227 or to the Donor's favorite charity.

So sorry to hear about Betty. My sympathy goes out to Steve, Faith, Nathan, and the rest of the family. She was a sweet and wonderful lady. My prayers are with you all. Another lovely lady has gone on to her reward.
