Barbara's Story

78, of Homer, passed away on December 16, 2017 in Shelbyville. She was born on August 7, 1939 in Shelbyville, IN to the late Maurice and Rena Kathryn (Percell) Kuhn. Her mother passed when she was young and Kay was raised by Wanda Kuhn. Kay was a 1957 graduate of Manilla High School. She married Paul Rogers on February 14, 1957 and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2004.
Kay was a member of the Homer Christian Union Church where she had served as secretary and active in the Church Guild. She began work as a school secretary in Manilla and then finished her 34 years at Arlington Elementary, retiring in 2008. Kay also managed the Mohrwood Apartment and was the Secretary for the Hurst Cemetery.
Kay is survived by her sons, Terry (Connie) Rogers of Homer and Barry of Homer, a daughter, Sherry K. Mohr of Shelbyville, brothers, Phil (Judy) Kuhn of Rushville and Jimmy Kuhn of North Carolina, a sister, Nancy Crousore of Greenwood, a sister-in-law, Pam Kuhn of Rushville, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Kay is also preceded in death by her brother, Maurice Kuhn, Jr.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 1 PM in Moster Mortuary with Rev. Roger Abraham presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 10 AM until the time of service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Hurst Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in order to offset final expenses or they may be made to the Homer Christian Union Church.
