Barbara Lee Hilligoss, 67 of Indianapolis, passed away on Dec. 12, 2016 in Greenwood, IN.
She was born on Sept. 23, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Virgil L. and Thelma (Woods) Matney.
Barbara spent her early life in the Andersonville/Metamora area. She married Paul J. Hilligoss on Aug. 23, 1972 and he preceded her in death on March 31, 2014.
Barbara worked as a cook at the Waffle House in Southport for over 10 years. She was a member of the American Legion Post #355.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Dan Matney of Rushville, nieces and nephews, Danny (Irene) Matney of Glenwood, Rhonda (Greg) Wright of Rush County, Natalie (Brian) Davis of Waldron, Sandy Matney & Amy Matney of Dayton, Chase Matney of Indianapolis and Spencer Matney of Yorktown, sister-in-law, Patty Matney of Muncie & best friends, Jim & Julie Adkins of Fairland. Several great nieces & nephews also survive.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Pastor Richard Rhoads presiding. Friends are welcome to visit at the mortuary from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery in Rush County. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
