Arlin Wayne Sparks
Arlin Wayne Sparks, 82, a long time Franklin County area resident, passed away October 29, 2019 at his home. He was born January 30, 1937 in Fayette County to Ernest Sparks and Martha (Steele) Little. Wayne married Elsie Jane Hunter on October 5, 1956 and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2012.
Wayne worked from 1995-2002 for Randall-Textron. He drove trucks most of his life, long haul and locally with a water delivery route. Wayne loved to "tinker". He was a gifted wood craftsman and crafted many different items.
Wayne is survived by his companion of many years, Sharrit Carlton, of Laurel, his sons, Kenneth (Debra) Sparks of Rushville, Darrell (Joyce) Sparks, Paul & James Sparks, all of Laurel, his daughters, Debra Sizemore of Laurel and Crystal (Jake) Van Wye of Shelbyville, 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Wayne was preceded in death by a sister, Joann James and brothers, Robert, Dewey, Kenny and Paul.
Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, November 2, 2019 in Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Rob Edwards presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family on Friday evening, November 1, from 5-8 PM in the mortuary. Burial will be in the Metamora Cemetery-Mobley addition.
